This image was made by the Western Rim of the Grand Canyon, near a point that jets out into the canyon called Guano Point. In the old days Guano Point featured a lift system that helped transport guano from a mine across the other side of the canyon. As the guano business slowed down, the lift and pulley system that stretched across the entire width of the canyon fell in disrepair and eventually vanished.
