I like bumblebees and this would be the carder bee (Bombus pascuorum) in the UK and builds its nest on the ground with moss. Not sure if it is the same species where you are?

Hello Badgrandad I live In Canada-Just saw this Comment, sorry I did not see this response, The UK and Canada are fairly on the same page, am sure the Common Bumble Bee are the same, I hope they are not dying-off over there as fast as there are here, Its very sad people dont Like bugs in there gardens, Thats just SAD, it kills what feeds us, And some still dont "Get-it" they would rather have a bug free garden then Food, they will soon go "whoops"

Hello Bad Grandad. I am in Canada (Ontario) close to London in Watford.Golf courses are still using chemicals and fertilizers that kill off Bumble bees. 80% of Bumble bees have died. (Better polinators than honey bees.What part of The UK Do you hail frommy friend?
