DAWN AT THE SUMMIT

We did the dawn hike, leaving base at 2:30 am and hiking to the crossing to meet the sunrise at 515 am, the lava tubes and the lands of "mordor", lucky enough to see when it was almost cloud free.. It was an awesome, breathtaking and inspiring experience. The dawn hike provides you an experience of being on top of the world alone in your small company. I hope to do it again one day. It requires a good level of fitness but is doable for less fit if you take your time.
