This is a herd of pure American Bison that is kept on a large acreage located in Minneopa State Park, Minnesota. This prairie land is in the historical range of these Bison. They were hunted to near extinction for their fur coats. It is good to see the effort to raise these purebred Bison in the wild. The Steadman Mill is the backdrop to this prairie scene. It is the original limestone Grainary and Mill but is lacking the windmill that was located on top of the building.
