No it's not a fake up of the real thing. The subject was a Roumanian art student posing as a mime in Paris outside the Orsay Museum. This was apparently his way of funding his tuition fees. Some months later I was surprised to see him being interviewed on TV by Connie Chung. No guessing who inspired him. And like the original his stare seems to follow you from every angle.
