Lying along a stretch of Koekohe Beach on the Otago coast of New Zealand's South Island are the Moeraki Boulders. Maori legend has it that these spherical boulders are the remains of eel baskets, calabashes and kumara washed ashore from the wreck of a large sailing canoe, Arai-te-uru. The reticulated patterns according to legend are the remains of the canoe's fishing nets. There were people everywhere but I liked the squatting lady in the shot..even though she was totally unaware that I was clicking away.

Great shot! The day I was there was a very wet and rainy day. Still, wonderful to see.

Thanks so much Belfastgirl...the problem with such a green country is that to keep it this green there's always rain! I was blessed this day to have such magic weather!
