“O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope’s ear;
Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!”

I feel like I say this a lot. But what started out as one idea turned into another while I was working. The inspiration was from an Art Nouveau card I saw here. Thus the curves and curlicues you see on the sides of the image. But the more I worked on it, the more I heard fairies from another world whispering in my ear. Make it darker… Add an air of mystery… Make her look magical… So I did. And once I woke from the delicious dream of creativity, I had “Masquerade” staring right back at me. I have no behind the scenes video for this image although I am sure you would all have seen specs of pixie dust guiding me here and there.
