Fog trailing a brief thunderstorm clears over the top of Black Balsam Knob, at over 6000' elevation in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. Heavy rain from the storm inundated the Art Loeb Trail that traces the summit, making me regret not bringing my normal ankle-high hiking boots! I would say the soaked socks were worth the trip, though!
