The third largest bird in the world is Australia's Southern Cassowary. This beautiful creature, with 5 inch claws, is reminiscent of Dinosaurs and is also considered the Most Dangerous bird on earth! There are many stories of these birds killing humans if frightened. Sadly, there are less than 2000 Cassowaries left in the world and they are considered critically endangered. I was lucky enough to capture this perfect specimen at the San Antonio zoo with my portrait lens. I have been experimenting with shooting animals with a studio lens that is meant to create large depth of field for modeling shoots. I figured animals would look better also with a narrow depth of field. This picture was taken at f/2 and 200mm. Enjoy!
