Sole Tree
It's an eyesore to some and magnificent landmark to other. Either way the Soul Tree has traction.
Me personally ... I love it!

It's an eyesore to some and magnificent landmark to other. Either way the Soul Tree has traction.
Me personally ... I love it!
It is in Barrie, Ontario around Anne Street North and Carson Road.
This is also where Anne and I took a "selfie" and sent it to Chris. Ask Anne or Chris how good the "selfie" was. We laughed soooo much. Hahaha
This poem used to be on the tree.
There once grew a tree
So stately and proud
You really could tell
It stood out in the crowd.
Shelter it gave to fur and to feather
Shade was it’s gift to all in hot weather
And the valley stayed green
‘Cos the air it did clean.
Then lightning hit
Now it’s as dead as a nit
So…
Let’s show that we cared
And give shoes that were weared
To make it so pretty
That folks from the city
Will come for a smile…
But just for a while
‘Till the developers come
And then ’twill be done.

wow, this is so cool. I have seen 'Sole Trees' when we have travelled but never one as full as this - fantastic capture and edit Cher. Wonderful Poem and so great to hear of your wonderful time shared with Anne. These are treasured times - we all need them. :)

It's amazing- you see collections of shoes in Lanark county, Ontario..but this is when the land has opened up, causing injury or accident. Nice to see the saga sense of belonging on this shot, nice treatment in monochrome, too.

Wow...I love this! This is one of those things that I'm sure looks better in b/w! Awesome capture and edit, Cher! :)
