Wolfgang Peak is part of the Peak Range about 50klm north of Clermont, Queensland. This peak and others similar are volcanic plugs and provide spectacular scenery. The range has been built up by basalt lava flows which erupted from the Peak Range volcano, about 32 millions years ago. Apparently climbing the peak takes an hour or so, but finding the track to Wolfgang is somewhat difficult. Needless to say, we did not find this track, but still the scenery was spectacular. A cloudy late afternoon capture gives mellow colours and beautiful skies.
