Anyone who's been to the Muriwai blowhole can attest to the fact that when there's a decent swell running it's not for the faint hearted. If you fall into that channel there's a fairly solid chance it will not turn out well for you. The shooting routine goes like this...move close to the edge, focus, wait until a wave crashes up over the edge, shoot while holding your tripod tightly. As soon as the exposure finishes turn and bolt as the wave rushes past you and fills your boots with water. Who said photography can't produce adrenalin.
