In 1860, The East Float Dock in Birkenhead, UK, was constructed from reclaimed land as an inland berthing system off the River Mersey. Once the largest grain handling port in the Northwest of England, sadly most of the huge mills and warehouses have now been demolished. This beautiful grain mill is the last survivor and has now been converted into apartments.

Thank you so much, Jess. I confess, I was taken as much by that brooding sky as by the architecture!
