I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the kind people who have given me "likes" and awards for this photograph, and a special thanks to those of you who voted for it in the "Your Summer" contest. It really does mean a lot. Thanks guys.

Wow! I hadn't seen this picture of yours before! It is absolutely amazing - the perspective, the colours, everything!

Location
Whilst on holiday, this was taken on the west pier at the mouth of the harbour of Whitby in Yorkshire, UK.Time
An early June evening around 21:00.Lighting
The scene was lit by the sun, low in the sky, just before twilight.Equipment
Nikon D5200 DSLR, with a Nikkor 35mm prime lens.Inspiration
Walking along the pier with my partner Jane after a delicious Indian meal, we felt at peace with the world - and what could be a more peaceful scene than this group of anglers?Editing
I always shoot RAW files and perform corrections to exposure, white balance, contrast, etc. in Adobe Camera Raw.In my camera bag
Now I have a Nikon D7100, Nikkor 35mm f1.8 prime lens, Tamron 70-300mm zoom, Sigma 10-20mm wide angle zoom and Sigma 17-70mm zoom.Feedback
Timing is everything. Try to take shots in the "golden hour". Make sure you get everything in frame that should be there, and nothing else. Try to get your horizon level and your uprights perpendicular. Keep your ISO as low as possible and just keep on taking photographs.
