Another look at this masterpiece, I was commenting to my wife that this one of my favorite Sandhills crane images, flying and lovely backdrop. Hope to get some of these if I can talk my wife into a trip to NM next month. This is definitely one to frame, Ed!

This reminds me of one of my most favorite places in all the world. It's called Painted Woods, and its just a few miles north of Bismarck, North Dakota, just across. the Missouri River from Mandan, where I grew up. I spent so very many wonderful days out in nature there with my father. In fact, he took me to the far west end of it one evening and thats where I fell in love with sunset photography.
