On a business trip with my husband in 2009 I had the chance to attend a dinner where a Maiko ( an apprentice geisha) was performing and I had permission to photograph.I was very much a beginning photographer, I didn't (and still don't) usually photograph people and I didn't use flash, so there is a slight motion blur, which I find kind of endearing as it shows the movement of her hair decoration. Her name is Fukuyu and she was 19 and in her last year of being an apprentice, training starts at 15.
