Hawaii, Kauai -This is the Argiope appenas or Hawaiian Garden Spider.The photo was taken in the rain-forest on Kauai. This Spider is not poisonous to humans. They are excellent bug killers. They can grow to a great size. This spider is not a native spider but it is abundant on Kauai. The origin is from Taiwan and Guam. (other Hawaii photos and Kauai photos on page)
