At the beginning of May, so early in the spring, you can find already blooming Two-styled hawthorn, Crataegus laevigata, in the landscape. This hawthorn species, which is often planted between hedges, flowers earlier than the Single-styled. The white flowers are striking and later in the year, especially in autumn, the red rosehips adorn the shrubs. These are eaten by birds and that way the seed is spread.
