Black and white Candid portrait photography in an outdoor setting. Taken on a Mothers Day trip to a local garden this is a fine art portrait of my daughter sitting on the garden steps looking up at a magnolia tree , taken unbeknown to her , it seemed to me to encapsulate all the feelings of youth ; innocence , purity , hope happiness and light which symbolize the season of Spring. This is why I called the it ,'Persephone', because she reminded me of the Greek myth about Persephone and how her mother Demeter created Spring in celebration at her daughters return to Earth, I felt in that moment as I made a connection between her with my camera the overwhelming feeling of Love and joy that Spring symbolizes for the Mother Goddess on seeing her daughter.
