I have been attempting to capture this image of my cat's (Meg) eye from the side. She's so affectionate that most of the time I get this close, she turns her head and starts butting up against me or trying to sniff the camera lens. This time, something off in the grass got her attention. Thanks strange bug or mouse! What I really like is that you can see the clear portion of her eye where the aqueous humor looks like a big clear bubble over her iris.

Thanks, Tabitha! Believe me, I can completely relate to the "something I've been trying to capture for a while" sentiment. I snap photo after photo (thank goodness it's digital and I don't have to pay to have rolls of film developed!) and just having Meg not be looking right at me is a lesson in patience all by itself as a natural subject. This is like the 3rd photo I have managed to capture like this and this one is so far the best. Even so, I'll be making more attempts, hoping to get that ONE amazing photo of this eye/angle.
Keep at it and keep snapping. Sooner or later, you're going to manage one of those "Oooh" photos. When you do, I'm sure you'll feel like I do when I get one. It's a great feeling to look at a photo that works and you know you snapped it.
Thanks again for your complimentary comments.
