Welsh Desert Nature landscape photography. Yes, it's true , Wales has a desert filled with mountain canyons and valleys , dry weather plants and desolate slopes and it can be found on the Isle of Anglesey. This mountain is not caused by the ravages of Mother Nature alone , however, but it is the indelible fingerprint of Human industry upon the rich , copper filled mountain landscape. Parys Mountain region , or Copper Mountain , as it is colloquially known and it's desert enviroment was created by miners with bare hands and bear will in the pursuit of the riches beneath. This is the copper face of the quarrying cliff once high like the mountain peak that can be seen topped by a now abandoned and desolate windmill. The mine has also been long since abandoned and it's unworldly appearance has made it attractive to both film and TV makers alike as a set for other planets. It is pretty hard to capture , especially on a day filled with bright sunlight like this one. This image in which I tried to get an expanding view of the undulating mountainside was taken at a midway point up the trail from a ground level POV with the lens tilted upwards at high zoom to produce a wide angle appearance with a sharp contrast with the equipment i had available on the day , my Canon SX730 hs , a good companion , take anywhere camera for the days when I am not able to use my DSLR.
