swqaz, where did you take this photo?

This shot was taken this spring at Meteora, Greece. The place is famous for the ancient monasteries built on the vertical rocks. Captured in the morning during sunrise.

Anything worth sharing about lighting?

The morning mist formed because of the rain falling overnight created wonderful conditions for fabulous diffused light which I used to create this photo.

What equipment did you use?

I used a Sony a7R II camera with a Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens, shot by hand.

What inspired you to take this photo?

Beautiful rocks and ancient monasteries have inspired many photographers from all over the world to visit and take pictures of this place. I am one of them :)

Did you do any post-processing? If yes, tell us about it!

Yes, I used a photoshop to increase the contrast of the frame, as well as to increase the color intensity, because due to the fog the colors were a little pale.

What equipment do you normally have in your bag?

Sony a7R II, Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS, Sony FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA, ZEISS Batis 18mm f/2.8, 5 & 10 stops ND filters, 0.3 stops hard & soft grad filters.

Any advice for others trying to capture something similar?

When shooting in fog, the light is usually very low and my advice is to use a tripod or equipment that allows usable high iso when shooting by hand. I wish everyone a beautiful and dramatic weather!
