Behind The Lens

Location

This is my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who gives me plenty of opportunity to capture his personality. This happened in my kitchen and the morning sun filtered in enough for this shot.

Time

I was getting breakfast ready for my dogs and Fergus was giving me his best “sit”, knowing foos was on the way!

Lighting

My kitchen window gets great morning light, so I try to grab every opportunity to capture the beauty of this boy.

Equipment

Actually, I was fortunate enough to capture this with my phone.

Inspiration

Fergus has the most amazing red fur and when I can get him in the right light, it shows off his pedigree.

Editing

I shot this in portrait mode which gives me some beautiful filter options

In my camera bag

My mirrorless a7iii Sony takes the most amazing shots, easier on my body, because it’s so lightweight.

Feedback

One of the things about photographing animals is you have to be quick (kind of like kids! Lol) and I have found that my phone has become very convenient.
