This one started with a bug on the windowpane.
And then I thought about the uninteresting surface and background. You know how it goes...
The result was funny (at least to me), so I decided to share.
If you see something like that around, and recognize it as a nano-camera-mic-remote-control-thingy, just squash it; make them nosy spies try harder! :)

there you go, I have really learnt something today. Thought these nano camera spy thingies come disguised as mozzies, so that they can hide easily between 1500 others. the long tem version, I guessed, comes disguised as a dog flea specialising in black dogs.

They've already savvy... look at the fireflies! But then, it is one thing to have a butt lantern, and quite another to have reflectors, true. That's why these are New and Improved... 😁

You know, once you start playing in post-processing, the original values hardly represent anything important. Still, this was remembered by Exif: Shutter Speed 1/1600 sec, f/2.8, ISO 100, 0.00 eV, Metering Mode: Center weighted average, Flash Off, did not fire, Focal Length 4.3 mm, and White Balance Details: Auto1.Equipment
It was initially made with Nikon COOLPIX P900, and later post-processed in ACDSee.Inspiration
The occasion was to come real close to the bug, so I took the picture. The rest of the idea came later, as I was trying to make the background more interesting than plain window glass. Turns out, it was successful!Editing
Yes, already described under the image... You already surmised I have replaced the background by cutting away the bug, putting the other texture on the image, and pasting the bug back. Maybe you want to know how I made the "reflector"? There are many ways to do it, depending upon the program[s] you are using. This time I simply created a selection in the form of a triangle, and used the "sunlight" effect located behind the bug head. So the "sun" point was outside the selection, but it was only able to light up the selected section of the image. To finalize, I tweaked the intensity of the "sunlight" so as to create realistic shades on the background. The whole took me maybe 15 minutes, but I have been thinking about the changes much longer - so when I started changing the photo, my strategy was already decided upon. Fun!In my camera bag
For decades already I find it easier to carry a photo vest than any photo bag. It is more than enough to take along whatever I want or need for my photo session, walk or trip. My photo bags usually stay home or in the car, to keep the equipment I'm not using at the moment. The tripod has its permanent place in the car. My vest pockets usually contain two cameras. Regardless of which is the "main" camera, one of those is always some waterproof model, if the weather plays up or when I find something interesting in the shallows. Nowadays I usually use Nikon P900 or Sony RX100m7, and the waterproof backup is an Olympus TG-2 or a Paralenz DiveCam. Other vest pockets keep the spare batteries, ND and CPL filters, and one small camera clamp which can be fixed to almost anything. In many cases this can replace a tripod. The vest has deep pockets for longer lenses, and these usually hold a small water bottle, a sandwich, or a bar of chocolate - if I plan on being out for the whole day. I always pack about three meters length of paracord or similar strong, thin rope, one hefty pocket knife, and a lighter. Much can be improvised with these if need be. Recently I made it even easier, and take the essentials along in a waist pouch; one variable-volume McKinley. In the Outdoors, simplicity and comfort are my most important requirements!Feedback
Sometimes you can find some photo which is not very significant, and yet you don't want to jilt it, as it is technically correct. Well, such photos can wait until you get an idea and change it in some way that would make it more interesting! So, maybe you should delete only technically botched photos, and let the properly taken ones remain? You decide!
