Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Derwent Reservoir, County Durham, England. I am quite new to photography but was immediately besotted by close ups and intricate detail, especially in nature.

Time

It was a hot afternoon, bkack clouds were building and the air was full of static heaviness. Shortly after this shot was taken, the heavens opened and the sky came alive with thunder and lightning

Lighting

The light was starting to diminish as the clouds grew darker and I wanted to capture the reflection on the petals before it began to rain.

Equipment

Captured on a Canon EOS 4000D

Inspiration

I was always captured by the artist Georgia O Keefe and her perception of flowers. The intriciates, the colours, the shapes

Editing

I adjusted the contrast and enhanced the colour to bring out the beautiful detail and natural shade and lighting.

In my camera bag

My Canon camera and a flask of tea normally does the job!

Feedback

Even if something looks quite ordinary, zoom in and take a closer look. You will be surprised that such beauty can come in such small packages
