Location
Ganges Harbour on the Salish Sea is the main hub of life on tiny Salt Spring Island just off the coast of Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaTime
I made this particular photo very close to dawn when the sun was still obscured by low clouds and fogLighting
The foggy, calm conditions blanketed this composition in beautiful, subdued, perfectly even light so that I could maintain details in the shadows as well as the highlightsEquipment
I used one of my Rolleiflex K4A automats that comes equipped with Zeiss Tesar 3.5 lens. Kodak Portra 400 allowed me the freedom to work hand-held in the low early morning lightInspiration
The perfectly calm sea at slack tide presented a great opportunity to capture perfect reflections of the iconic Seahorse tugboat and sacred burial site Grace IsletEditing
There is minimal work done in post to achieve the look I wanted in the final image. I chose the film type because of its properties, especially colour balance and contrast, so that I could finish the photo in cameraIn my camera bag
