I made this photo at the beginning of the current pandemic when the first lockdown measures came into effect.
I rarely visit the city as it is (a ferry-ride away from my tiny island) but to see it so empty at midday was disconcerting.
There is a certain sense of furtiveness for me in this photo as though the figures are engaged in something they shouldn’t be…a sense heightened by the contrast and almost stark feel of the B&W film.
