The photo was taken on the Struma River in the village of Nevestino, near my town of Kyustendil, Bulgaria. The stone bridge with three arches in the photo is called The Kadin most ("bridge of the qadi") or Nevestin most ("Nevestino bridge"). It was constructed in 1470 on the order of Ishak Pasha during the reign of Ottoman sultan Mehmed II.Time
The photo was taken at 2.30 pm. This is not my favorite time for photos, but it so happened that I was in this wonderful place, the light was good, there were beautiful clouds and a perfect water mirror. Since I almost always have a camera on me, I took advantage of the moment.Lighting
The light is natural.Equipment
The photo was taken with a Nikon D3200, with an 18/55 lens. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
This is one of my favorite places. The beautiful river Struma, the wonderful park around it offer peace and relaxation. The ancient Kadin most is connected with the history of my country and with old legends. According to one legend, the construction of the bridge did not work, because everything that the masters raised during the day was carried away at night by the raging waters of the Struma. Therefore, the masters decided that for its successful completion they would have to sacrifice one of their wives; to be the first to bring them food in the morning. Struma the bride, the wife of Master Manol, came first and for this she was walled up in the foundations of the bridge. Hence the bridge is called Nevestin ("Bride") - in Turkish "Kadan". According to the second legend, the bridge was built by order of Sultan Murad as a wedding gift to a brave Bulgarian bride. When he went on a military campaign, the sultan met wedding guests at this place. They were not afraid of the sultan's troops, and the bride bowed to the sultan. when he asked her what gift she wanted, she wanted a bridge over the river. According to a third legend, the bridge was built at the insistence of a local Turkish judge - a Turkish "kadiya", and from there received its name "Kadin" bridge. One cannot help but feel the thrill and inspiration of being on such an ancient and beautiful land.Editing
I was lucky with the light and the subsequent processing was not difficult. I enhanced the contrast and brightness and stylized the colors. In my camera bag
I have three Nikon cameras. One of them is always with me.Feedback
Of course, it's nice when we have prepared and planned the photos in advance, but this is not always possible. If you have the opportunity, do not hesitate, this shot may become one of your remarkable picture.
