At first I thought everything was frozen!! Impressive. Love the lone trees in a photo. Have a pair of trees in a field of snow and heavy overcast sky. It is frozen.

Meant to ask... infrared camera?... EOS Digital Rebel? As a Canon user, I'd like to learn more. Only accomplished this back in the days of film. Shed some light on this for me, please and thank you.

I took this mid day as infrared is much better when the sun is shiningLighting
I waited until around noon to shoot this as the sun was almost directly overhead and lighting up everything which is what i wanted for this shot.Equipment
At the time I shot this I was using an older canon rebel that was converted to infrared. I was crouched down in the field with my daughter on my lap, she was about 3 at the time and I like to take her out with me to shoot sometimes. I shot this handheldInspiration
I had been eyeing this tree for quite some time. I drive past it almost every day and i was waiting for a day that the light and clouds would come together to allow me to capture it the way i wanted.Editing
Yes, I know i did, at this point i don't remember exactly what i did to it but i would say contrasted, used curves and a slight bit of orton effect. In my camera bag
Right now i am carrying around a nikon d810, 14-24, a canon t5i converted to infrared with a canon 17-40. I'm not a fan boy for any brand, I use whatever works for me. I started off with sony, went to canon and now i use both canon and nikon. My advice is rent different set ups, figure out what you like best and use it.Feedback
Make sure the tree or whatever foliage you are shooting is fairly green, the sun is beating down on it. Take a pic of some foliage close up and then white balance with that photo. Experiment with shutter and aperture. Infrared can be tricky, just practice away.
