Location
Madison Audubon's Faville Grove Sanctuary near Lake Mills, Wisconsin.Time
This was taken late afternoon, with the Sun still up, but setting soon.Lighting
Simple natural light just before twilight.Equipment
Nikon D750 with Nikkor 24-120mm lens. No tripod, just a steady hand.Inspiration
This is the edge between private farmland and the sanctuary. The perfect clouds and weather really made this abandoned farm implement tell a story. I think it speaks of years of hard work in these same fields, now it's time to rest.Editing
Just a touch of shadow lightening in the foreground and a nudge to the right of vibrance. Honestly, just to get the picture to look the way the scene looked to the naked eye.In my camera bag
A Nikon D750 or D7200. I swap the D750 with either a 24-120 "kit" lens, but I keep the big boy--our 70-200 f/2.8--at the ready. On the D7200, I like to keep our Sigma 10-20. Smaller sensor with the D7200, but paired with the Sigma, results can be extraordinary. I also sling a tripod over my shoulder on our hikes and excursions.Feedback
Nothing beats a sky blue sky with little white puffy clouds when it comes to landscape photography. :)
