Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a crisp winter day on the Huntington Beach Pier, in Huntington Beach California USA.

Time

I wont ever forget this day.. it was at 12 noon.. sun was directly above. The reason i wont ever forget it is because i had just been let go from a job… I was feeling a bit down, so to try and cheer myself up/distract i took a walk out on the pier to take some photographs. Thats when i met Mr. Pelican:)

Lighting

You know when its noon like it was in the photo its pretty easy to work with the lighting. Theres not really any shadows to worry anout, everything is just well lit.

Equipment

For this shot haha well for this shot all i had on me after leaving my former place of employment was my Casio Exilim EX-ZR 850. Which is a point and shoot camera, but by far the best point and shoot camera you will ever see. Look up the specs on this camera and be amazed. Its not made any more but you can find it on Ebay.

Inspiration

What inspired me was just how comfortable the pelican was around people. For him to allow me to get right up in his face like that and snap a photo was truly special.

Editing

Monochrome photos dont really need editing in my opinion. I did put some shade around to put more focus on Mr Pelican.

In my camera bag

Canon T6 Nikon p1000

Feedback

With all photography be patient and see things as if you were looking at a picture… would you enjoy looking at that picture? Find and see the beauty in everything.
