Behind The Lens

Location

In our home, the pets are as much family as the people are. As we relax in the livingroom, Faye makes herself comfortable on the couch. She is always careful to place one or two pillows where she puts her head. Spoiled, you say? Look at that face, then tell me you could tell her NO.

Time

Taken in the evening during family tv time.

Lighting

By simply using the regular room lighting, I capture the twinkle in Faye's eye.

Equipment

My camera is my Huawei phone. It takes crisp, well contrasted shots every time.

Inspiration

I might be biased, but I think she is the most beautiful mutt in the world.

Editing

This photograph is just as I took it, with no modifications.

Tread softly around your animals. If necessary, you might want to let them smell your camera before you start trying to photograph them. Talk to them gently and, in my case, I find this encourages them to be calm and sit still.
