Location
At a public sunflower field in Williamsburg, MichiganTime
This was during sunset.Lighting
A big storm rolled through creating some beautiful clouds and light.Equipment
Nikon Z7 Sigma 14-24 on the 34L RRS tripod with BR55 ballhead.Inspiration
I love photographing the field every year but this year was difficult because I had gone multiple times since they had bloomed but the light was always to harsh or to flat. By the end of the season they were starting to die off so I figured I would try and find one that was still had some life left with all the rest looking down to give a defined subject.Editing
Basic adjustments in ACR with some contrast and color separation in PS. Was lucky that the scene only had 3 colors and each contrasted well off each other so I wanted to make sure to put an emphasis on that.In my camera bag
Nikon D850 + Z7 with only two lenses so I can minimize getting the sensors filthy out in the field. Usually an ultra wide and a telephoto.Feedback
Make sure to be persistent and to improvise depending on the conditions. I was hoping for a colorful vibrant sunset but the clouds were too fast so I ended up getting this stormy shot scene which in the long run prefer more.
