Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in the Tarangire National Park ,Tanzania,East Africa.which is a national park with access to everyone and a sighting like this attracted lots of vehicles fighting for position making photography very challenging.There is a less than 3 months old Cheetah cub with some spots of the mom in the background behind the termite mound

This was taken in the late early morning in ok light

Lighting

The lighting was just ok

Equipment

Canon 1dx Mk II,canon 500mm lens with 2x extender hand held no flash

Inspiration

Was on safari in Tanzania ,East Africa and looking for any photographic opportunities and needed all my photo equipment as the Cheetah mother and child were far away ,there were lots of other vehicles in the way and the animals were constantly moving and could not get closer because of the rules of the national park not allowing off roading!!

Editing

Yes i post process all my photos just a little and this one included some cropping,and sharpening

In my camera bag

On Safari have 3 camera bodies one a 1.6 x crop and the others are full frame ,2 long lenses one a prime(500mm) ,the other a long zoom (200-400) and a short zoom as often get real close to the animals (70-200)

Feedback

Take as many photos as you can but for wildlife need to learn about the behaviour of the animals or birds that you are photographing so you can predict what they will do and be ready!!!
