The photo was taken at our local Bog Garden, here in Greensboro, NC. It's a very special place for everyone in our area. It has a good size lake, along with trails and boardwalk that runs around the middle of the garden that is all very natural. It also has feeder creeks down to the lake. The heron was on the left side as I was walking down to the lake.Time
This was taken around lunchtime. The heron was just resting and really not in a hurry to go anywhere.Lighting
The lighting is natural. No flashes.Equipment
I used a Nikon Coolpix L810. The aperture was f/5.9. ISO 80. Shutter speed 10/1250.Inspiration
I'm very serious about nature photography. I love to see how animals move and get along with the city life. We have a wide variety of birds and waterfowl that visit this area. Especially during migration season.Editing
The only post processing would be a little cropping and maybe a little lighting. Not much, at allIn my camera bag
I just carry the camera. It's so easy, I don't normally to use a bag.Feedback
Definitely try to find unusual gardens in the city that have lakes. You'll never know what you will find. I've also taken pictures of the Owls that stay in our garden. Also, we have Little Green Herons, and Osprey. We also, have quite a bit of different birds. I like to go during the mid-morning, lunchtime or a little after that, and early evening, that's when I see the most activity.
