Behind The Lens

Location

Windmill Art Studio, Linton, Cambridge England

Time

Ooh around 9pm I believe.

Lighting

This was a small group shoot utilising the skills of registered pyrotechnicians for the flames. Camera set on tripod for 30 second exposure, the pyrotech chap moved around the model creating the flaming wings effect, flash fired towards the end of the 30 second exposure to freeze the model.

Equipment

Canon 500d. Canon 28-135 lens. Studio flash fired remotely.

Inspiration

Discussion within the group and the studio owner arranging the pyrotechnicians for the shoot.

Editing

Yes, I added one of my fireworks shots to just break up the dark space in the background.

In my camera bag

Canon 70D, Canon 16-35 2.8L, Canon 50 1.18 prime lens, Sigma 10-20 1.35, Canon 430EXII flash, Manfrotto tripod in a Kata bag.

Feedback

Have plenty of patience, expect trial and error and make sure you have a superb model! ;0)
