Location
I took this photo on the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Haywood-Jackson Overlook. It has an elevation of 6020 feet.Time
This shot was taken just after sunrise. There were two other guys at the same lookout that were listening to Led Zeppelin’s Stair Way to Heaven at the time. It was a perfect song for the moment.Lighting
The sun was behind a huge cloud and it pushed all the light around it causing some spectacular rays. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time.Equipment
I was using a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera with the 16-50mm kit lens at the time. I didn’t use a tripod or any type of filters.Inspiration
I love the views from the Blue Ridge Parkway so I’m alway up there any chance I can get. Especially during sunrise and sunset.Editing
I lightly edited it in Lightroom. In my camera bag
Now a days I’m shooting with the Sony a7iii and the Sony 24mm f1.4 GM lens. I also carry the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 and a small table top tripod.Feedback
Come visit the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina where it’s full of spectacular views like this.
