Location
Panther Creek Falls in Washington state. These magnificent falls are now closed to the public sadly. Several people got hurt or died making the descent to the bottom of the falls in recent years.Time
This image was taken around 10amLighting
The lighting in that canton was phenomenal that day. Perfect mix of cloud cover plus some light leaking through like a giant soft box.Equipment
Nikon D810, Nikon 14-24mm lens, and an Induro Tripod with Really Right Stuff BH-55 ball head. We’re used.Inspiration
These falls are part of a three level waterfall that has been on my bucket list for a long time. This is one section of the lower falls..Editing
I always shoot in RAW so I had to edit the image but this shot took very little editing to coax out colors, etc. Cleaned up a couple of water splashes on the lens that were unavoidableIn my camera bag
Nikon D810, Nikon Z6, Tamron 15-30 2.8, Nikon 85mm Z series 1.8, Sigma 24-70 2.8 and occasionally a Sigma Art 105mm 1.4 lens as well. I run an Induro tripod with RRS head plus I have Leofoto tripod with leofoto head that I use sometimes also.Feedback
Chase your dream shots. Take lots of road trips, practice slow exposures. You right need to slow the exposure down much for waterfalls. .2 -.5 seconds is great. If you slow the shots down too much the water just turns to mush and loses all character in my opinion.. Good luck and GET OUT THERE!!
