Closeup of one of the doors into an old hangar in Horten, Norway.

In 1912 Norway got its first airplane START. It was purchased from Germany with money collected by submarine officers and given to the the Navy, This led to the creation of the aircraft factory , flight school , mechanic school, as well as a radio operator and observer school in Horten, Norway. 128 aircrafts were built up until World War II. Hangar A and B were drawn and barely begun in 1940 and then completed by the German occupying forces. By Royal Decree of November 10th, 1944, the Army and Navy Air Force merged into a third military branch: the Air Force. The airplane factory continued its activities until 1965 . Today Hangar A is still in military use, but hangar Bs future is unknown.

I find the building very intriguing for photography. There is a lot of history to this rusty old factory.
