Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a ranch in the Yakima Canyon area.

Time

This was around noon and used a covered porch area to keep the sun to a minimum.

Lighting

Used a soft box to help with shadows

Equipment

Sony A99 with softbox and used a Sony 85mm lens

Inspiration

Saw a pose like this in a magazine, I took it a bit more in order to make it a cowgirl shoot because well, everyone love a cowgirl right?

Editing

Lightroom was all I used and made it a black and white and reducing some shadows

In my camera bag

I carry it all, Sony A99, speed light, 85mm, 100mm Macro, 24mm wide angle, mini tripod and a full size tripod. In this case I took along one of my three soft boxes

Feedback

The only issue I had was that I used a full size cowboy hat, the model was only 5' 2" so the large had was wider than her, if I did it again, I'd use a smaller hat but yet still cover her chest as I did here
