I took this picture of my youngest granddaughter at the beach in Caloundra, Queensland, Australia.Time
I took this at 11.30am in January this year.Lighting
Nothing special about the lighting as it was a nice warm sunny day and the sun was directly overhead.Equipment
I used my Nikon D5100 camera, not really sure on the lens, but probably my basic kit lens. I just did hand held and no other equipment.Inspiration
Evie was happily playing in a little "pool" her Dad had made for her to play in, and I thought she looked cute (no bias at all...lol). She was so engrossed in what she was doing that I captured her being very natural. Of course kids having fun are always inspiring to photograph.Editing
I don't remember doing any post-processing, but if I did I would only have used what Windows 10 had available. I would only have enhanced and maybe a bit of clarity.I didn't have any editing program back in January. In my camera bag
It will depend on where I am going as to what I have in my camera bag. On this particular day I only had my Nikon camera, kit lens and Tamron 70-300mm lens. No matter where I go I always have a spare fully charged battery, spare memory card, and if I think I might do some macro I will have my Nikon Micro 40mm. If I go on an extended holiday I will also take my tripod.Feedback
Try to capture kids when they are not watching. It's amazing what you can get, especially if they are having fun. Be prepared to move in any direction and to even get wet if at the beach. If kids trust and like you, that makes taking kid's photos easier.
