Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at home. We have several green frogs that frequent our patio amongst the plants, but this one was on the pineapple plant just off the patio, and this one was in the perfect position to photograph.

Time

I took this photo at night, as that is when green frogs appear.

Lighting

As this was taken about 5 years ago I think I used the camera flash.

Equipment

I only had my Nikon D5100 camera back then, and I think I used my kit lens or my Tamron 70-300 with macro setting.

Inspiration

I love green frogs and they usually sit still while I capture them, kind of like they are posing. Wildlife is not always easy to photograph, as they move, but frogs are sometimes easy.

Editing

I use Luminar for post-processing, and would have Enhanced.

In my camera bag

I used to have my Nikon D5100 camera body and several lenses. But now I have a Nikon Coolpix P950, which I love.....no extra lenses to carry. I also have a spare memory card, spare battery and cleaning cloth. When I go on an extended trip I will take my tripod and remote shutter. I always take my GTN spray(for my heart) and phone.

Feedback

The best advice I was given was capture what you love. Don't try to copy other photographers. Sure, learn from them, but create your own style. And practice, practice and practice some more. Most of all, have fun. Don't be afraid to break the "rules".
