Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken on the island of Burano, one of those surrounding the city of Venice Italy

Time

Toward the end of the day in the month of November

Lighting

It was toward the end of the day so I was now working with fading light and strong shadow

Equipment

Nikon 810 with 24-70mm lens, handheld

Inspiration

I had been focused on shooting the canal reflections , but this particular byway I could not as the light was starting to throw shadow on the water. I noticed a local trend to cover the front doors with curtains and as I was exploring this young man sat down in front of his home. It looked like his ritual everyday when returning from work , surveying the block to see who was home.

Editing

I pushed the highlights And probably lightened some of the shadows

In my camera bag

If I’m traveling with my husband I carry less, so I had a 70-200 lens and a lens cloth with me
