Location
This photo was taken in Kwa Zulu Natal in South Africa in a private reserveTime
The picture was taken early morning after spending a complete night in an overnight hide.Lighting
The hide is set deep in the ground with the viewpoint at water level .The sun rising from behind my position . The day was overcast as it had been raining overnight so the light was gentle. Warthogs are notoriously difficult to get detail from them as they reflect the harsh African light on most occasions.I was lucky to have ideal lighting conditions.Equipment
Nikon D5 , using a 200 - 500mm f5.6 telephoto lens on a tripod. No flash usedInspiration
This particular hide allows for such a great low angle .I was enjoying the social interaction that happens very quickly and then is over. I had to follow the activity of drinking for about 8 minutes before this event.Editing
Crop and lightened the eyes. Brought back the color as shooting in Raw this lost to some degree. Nothing much else was required. In my camera bag

This picture was taken no more than 3 meters away. In order to get a picture like this you need to research wild life hides that will allow you this opportunity.
