Behind The Lens

Location

Highway 163 Utah , near Monument Valley Arizona .

Time

It was evening a hour or 2 before sunset

Lighting

This was just the natural lighting of the landscape . It was a very clear day . No clouds .

Equipment

I used my cannon EOS 60D for this with my (EF-S18-135mm) lens (the only widest angle lens I had at the time ) , Handheld standing In the road !

Inspiration

This was a goal of mine while on our trip out west to capture this famous landscape . It to me is one of the most beautiful ancient western landscapes in the US . Just being able to be there and see it in person was so amazing . It gives you the sense of the open road , and how small we really are . I grew up watching all the old westerns and there was always some part of monument valley in them . So getting this shot to me was one of my life goals. One day I will go back and do it all again .

Editing

I really didn’t do very much with this one . I used Lightroom and just tweaked it a bit .

Canon EOS 60D . Cannon L series 100-400mm , canon EF 100mm Macro , Canon EF 24-70mm , Canon 16-35mm .
