Location
On a drive around Hvalfjord, Iceland, in late September.Time
Mid morningLighting
The lighting at this time of year in Iceland is pretty perfect throughout the daylight hours, as the sun does not rise fully, providing incredible lighting for landscape photography. As a result, this photo has not been edited to enhance the colours!Equipment
Sony A77 with the 16-50mm f2.8 wide angle kit lens.Inspiration
This was taken during a week-long road trip around the South of Iceland. As we drove around the bendy roads we were presented with this amazingly stunning scenery, looking down into the Hvalfjord. We just had to stop to take in the beauty of the land and of course try to capture it in a photo!Editing
No, none whatsoever. This was taken in jpg format, and the natural lighting provided all the contrast and colour saturation necessary. In my camera bag
I usually have just my A77 with the 16-50mm f2.8 kit lens with me, though most times I have a small travel tripod with me too. You never know when it might come in handy. On my photography holidays this is complimented with a selection of other lenses, my 70-300mm and 100mm macro and most recently I rented a 10-20mm f3.5 wide angle lens especially for shooting the Northern Lights. Of course my wireless remote control and a spare battery are always in my pack.Feedback
I was totally reliant on natural influences, so to take a shot like this you need the right sort of lighting, ideally with the warm morning or afternoon sun behind you.
