This was taken yesterday at a small marsh I found located between two busy highways and retail stores. This heron repeatedly took off to find sticks and brought them back to the nest. It frequently missed the nest when it tried to drop it in and then would preen itself for at least 5-10 minutes before heading off to get another stick.
