Location
It´s a little part of an gladiolus blossom from my garden. The photograph was taken in my kitchen, without blowing wind and with time to try different angles and light.Time
Mostly I take my pictures late in the evening, sometimes late at night :)Lighting
For my flower pics I don´t use flash. There is only LED light under my cupboard in the kitchen. Behind the blossom I positioned a black background, very suitable is a part of an old computer case.Equipment
My camera in this case was a Panasonic Lumix G5, now I´m the owner of a Lumix G81. I like my lens for this purpose very much, a LUMIX G MACRO 30mm / F2.8 ASPH H-HS030. Because of very long exposures I use a tripod Rollei M4-Mini and a cable release.Inspiration
Mostly I like to photograph the little things, the colors of flowers and blossoms, sometimes with droplets. And I try different angles and light.Editing
Sure, you noticed that! There are no gladiolus in nature in such a deep blue way. The white balance of the camera is often very helpful for flower photography. But sometimes I also use software like Corel Photo Paint, Perfectly Clear or Raw Therapee to get special effects like this blue :))In my camera bag
Mostly there are two lenses (LUMIX G MACRO 30mm / F2.8 ASPH H-HS030 and LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH H-FS14140) in my bag, a cable release, a few filters (grey and polarization), and always ... since last Xmas the Panasonic G81 :)))Feedback
Think it´s very important to try a few different perspectives, details and lights! Make many pictures and keep only the best! Be creative ... but please, have always pleasure and fun! Be patient until you are satisfied with the results!
