This photo was taken in the Botanical Garden Leipzig. At springtime I have also blooming pulsatilla in my own garden but not as much as I found there.Time
It was a sunny spring day when I visited this beautiful garden. And it was late afternoon with magic light when I went down on my knees ... and the grass was wet ... to find the perfect view to these amazing flowers with my eyes and my camera.Lighting
Mostly I photograph my flowers at home late at night in my dark kitchen. This one was an outside exception. It was really a great experience to find this position with the right combination of sunlight, colors and shadows.Equipment
When I shoot my "blooming models" in my "kitchen studio" I always use a tripod. But this day in the park I had to take a deep breathe to stand absolutely still for a moment ... in the fresh blowing wind ... a difficult challenge! I like my Panasonic DMC-G81 camera especially in combination with the lens Panasonic Lumix G MACRO 30 mm, a perfect pair for my flower photography!Inspiration
Mostly while taking flower photos after midnight I need a lot of time to try many different positions for all the stunning details. There are no flying insects and no curious neighbours wondering about my work with the camera in kitchen. This picture however is the result of a spontanious shooting while walking through the park.Editing
Sometimes I use different computer programs a little bit for cutting and rotating the photos, for improving the colors and the exposure. But I try already while shooting to be near to the final result. In my camera bag
An advantage of MFT equipment is the lower size and weight. So it's easier to take a few different lenses and filters in my bag. But the Lumix G MACRO 30 mm is always on tour with me and ... not this day ... often a tripod.Feedback
At first have fun! Be patient with yourself! And then try many different views, take many pictures, learn what you can do better, experiment with light ... But again, always enjoy what you do with your camera!
