We were about to go hiking in the mountains of Durmitor, Montenegro, passing by this lovely lake, almost totally covered in mist, when the ever present wind blew the fog and clouds away but for a fleeting moment and awarded us with this look at the opposite side of the lake :)

Location
On the banks of an amazing lake - Black Lake (Crno Jezero), in the Durmitor National Park in Montenegro. It is an amazing location in a similarly amazing country - Montenegro is a hidden gem for landscape and nature lovers, and adventure seekers would have plenty to do there as well!Time
It was taken around 10:00 in the morning, a very misty mountain morning, to be more accurate :)Lighting
This particular morning was super misty and a very temperament mountain wind was making the entire vista continually change before our eyes. I took a photo of a totally mist covered lake mere seconds before this one was taken and we were just about to leave the spot when the sudden gust of wind uncovered the previously hidden far bank of the lake with this little cabin there and I just managed to snap a few images before it got covered again :)Equipment
I used an Olympus E-M1 and the Olympus 40-150mm/f2.8 lens. It was shot handheld, no worries at all with the Olympus' excellent IBIS...Inspiration
As already mentioned, the whole area is an absolute heaven for photographers, but this particular image was just uncovered before our eyes by a sudden gust of wind that blew the morning mists away for a barest second - the magnificence of the forest and the contrasting fragility of the little cabin, coupled with the lovely reflection in the mirror-like surface of the lake made it a no-brainer indeed :)Editing
Apart from some cropping and the fairly standard processing, I made use of the Lightroom's Dehaze filter and it worked quite miraculously in this particular case.In my camera bag
I embraced miniaturisation and went smaller and smaller as the years went by, so my Mamiya kit was replaced by a Canon 5D and L lenses in their various iterations, only for them to be absolutely successfully supplanted by a m43 kit, which, I must say, reignited my love for photography big time. So, my kit now comprises of Olympus E-M1 MkII and a number of Olympus lenses - 7-14 F2.8, 40-150 F2.8, 12-100 F4, 60 F2.8 macro, and pretty much all their fast primes... getting ready to purchase 300 F4 as well... I also carry a Sirui aluminium tripod (an amazing, unbeatable value for money), timelapse controller (Radian), spare body (Olympus E-M1)... I also have a Panasonic GH4, for video work - it does not see much photography action - I somehow just feel more "at home" with the Olympus equipment for my photo work...Feedback
Up in the mountains, the mists and winds can be totally unpredictable and while a heavy fog can ruin your day, the ever-changing winds can open some amazing, moody vistas before your very eyes... or behind your backs as in this case - had we not turned back towards a place we just left, I would have likely missed this shot - so look around... all the time :)
